This is not only a 200–300 ha forest fire: it is a mixed surface–crown incident where explosive war remnants restrict direct access, making weather windows and stand-off suppression unusually decisive.

The distinctive feature is the interaction between fire behaviour, interface exposure and historical battlefield contamination. Helicopters, water cannons, mechanical line construction and ground crews can reduce intensity and hold sectors, but parts of the forest cannot be treated like an ordinary accessible European woodland fire. A change in wind can therefore alter both fire behaviour and the geometry of safe operations.
